Cart Recovery Calculator
Estimate how much of the revenue left in abandoned carts could come back through WhatsApp reminders. The rates are measured from the actual records of Pushouse stores; because stores differ, the result is shown as a range rather than a single number.
The calculator opens with example values. Enter your own figures and the result updates instantly; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Conservative and high are the lower and upper quartiles of the stores we measured: half of the stores fall between them, a quarter below the conservative value and a quarter above the high value.
How the typical result is calculated
- 1,000 abandoned carts × 30% = 300 reminders
- 300 reminders × 89.9% delivered = 269.7
- 269.7 × 8.4% order rate = 22.7 → 23 orders
- 23 orders × 1,000 = 23,000
Method
How do we calculate this?
Reminders = abandoned carts × share with a phone number and consent. Recovered orders = reminders × 89.9% (delivered share) × order rate. Revenue = orders × average order value.
Where does the order rate come from?
From the cart reminders Pushouse stores sent between 22 July and 4 October 2026. For each store we measured how many delivered reminders were followed within 7 days by an order from the same phone number. Across the stores that sent enough reminders to be measured, the middle value (median) is 8.4%; half of them are between 4.8% and 14.0%.
Why 89.9%?
Some WhatsApp messages never reach the recipient, for example when the number does not use WhatsApp. The order rate is measured on reminders that arrived, so the calculation first finds the share that will arrive. The 89.9% in the calculation is the share of cart reminders sent by Pushouse stores between 22 July and 19 October 2026 that reached the recipient (that WhatsApp did not report as failed).
What does it leave out?
- Orders that would have come anyway. We did not use a control group; some orders that follow a reminder would have been placed regardless.
- Discount coupon and messaging costs, returns and cancellations. Orders were counted when they were placed.
- Carts without a phone number or messaging consent. They receive no reminder; the field above takes only the share of carts that have both.
- Several carts left by the same person. Reminders are not repeated to the same number at short intervals, so the actual message count and result can be lower.
- The difference between a recovered order's value and your average order value. Revenue assumes every order is worth the average.
Results vary by store
The rates we measured differ from store to store and from industry to industry: a quarter of the stores are below 4.8% and a quarter above 14.0%. This page is not a guarantee or a promise of higher sales; it is an estimate based on measured results.
